Rini's family is financially distressed and lives in an old village home near a cemetery with her father, sick mother, bearded grandmother and six-year-old silent brother Tony, Bondi and Ian. Her mother, who was a successful singer, died of a mysterious illness and had no means to support her father's family. When his mother dies, his father has to go to town to sell the house, and strange things happen at home. Suspicious Rini becomes friends with Hendra, the son of a religious teacher, and they learn that her mother is barren and joins a religion that worships Satan to conceive. At home, the children are terrified by the presence of Maurani's ghost, then Bondi and Rini find their grandmother Rahma dead near the well. After finding an unclassified letter at Rahmar's desk to a man named Budiman, Rini and Hendra send him to the city center to ask for his help. Budiman, a magic writer, reveals that Bahri did not approve of Rahma because of Mawrney's career and the symptoms of infertility when she was about to marry Mawrney. Budiman gave Rini her article on a satanic fertility community targeting infertile women who want to conceive, with the warning that the last child must voluntarily surrender within seven years. They feared for Ian's safety, that he would be seven years old in three days. The next day, while delivering an important letter to Rini from Budiman, Hendra collides with a truck.
Bahri decides to move to the city with her children. At night, members of the cult surround the house in a fierce storm, but tell outside worshipers that he will not let Ian go, they leave.
